Spicy Yellowtail and Tomato Curry
Famous Japanese Curry with deep-fried Buri

◇ Ingredients ◇
Serves 1-2
- 100g yellowtail fillet, skin on, sliced
- 50g onion, thinly sliced
- 40g vegetable oil
- 150g canned tomatoes
- 150㎖ water
- 30g commercial Japanese curry roux cube of your choice
- Salt, garam masala, chopped parsley, frying oil
◇ Way of making ◇
- step1.
- Heat a frying pan over low heat and add the oil and garam masala. Add onion when the garam masala smells, and cook until it softens. Add tomatoes and water to bring to a boil.
- step2.
- Remove the pan from the heat, add and dissolve the curry roux cube. Cook over medium heat for a few minutes.
- step3.
- Sprinkle the yellowtail with a pinch of salt and set aside for 5 minutes. Rinse and pat dry with a paper towel.
- step4.
- Heat frying oil to 180℃ and deep-fry the yellowtail, drain off the excess oil and dust them with garam masala.
- step5.
- Serve the curry in a deep dish or bowl, sprinkle with parsley, and serve with pasta, rice, or bread.
